On Sunday I had the pleasure of getting out of the city for a few hours and enjoying a walk on a Welsh beach.
Climbing and jumping across the varied terrain was reminiscent of the feats of Indiana Jones. At points I was dodging strong currents from an estuary flowing into the ocean, bounding from boulder to boulder to cross to the cliffs, and pulling my shoes out of 6-inch-deep mud along the Coastal Walk.
All in all it was a lovely trip, the sun shone endlessly, and the scenery was breathtaking.
Wales native Roald Dahl summed up the mood of the day: “And above all, watch with glittering eyes the whole world around you because the greatest secrets are always hidden in the most unlikely places. Those who don’t believe in magic will never find it.”
